NHRA Pro Stock finals at the Pomona Raceway, California.. Winner was Vincent Nobile with an elapsed time of 6.584 and a speed of 210.05 mph. Runner-up: Jeg Coughlin with an elapsed time of 6.571 and a speed of 211.03.
Funny Car finals. Courtney Force defeats Ron Capps for the "Wally Trophy." Force's elapsed time was 4.025 with a speed of 317.12 miles per hour. Capps took second with an elapsed time of 6.090 and a speed of 116.92. Not much of a race.
Shawn Langdon, racing for the Al-Anabi Silver Team beats Tony Schumacher in the Top Fuel final. Langdon's ET is 3.721 with a speed of 322.27 MPH; Schumacher's ET is 3.747 with a speed of 324.12.
