Agrow Fresh Produce Dragster

15 June 2013

Mike Recchia's 1969 Camero SS/RS Pro Extreme door-slammer dragster, stages in Saint Louis during a quarter final qualification heat. Mike's time was 3.891 at 187.44 mph to win the heat. Pro Extreme finals were not run due to rain.
This car, built by Garrett Race Cars, is powered by a 517 c.i. supercharged hemi motor. The car is a beauty to see since it is modeled on a Camero Pace Car. The blue "rag top" is a nice touch.

Extreme Pro Modified Qualifying Heat (Saint Louis)

Galot Racing Team

X-DRL Gateway Outlaw Doorslammer!

Another beautiful car prepared by Galot Racing of Clinton, North Carolina. Owner Earl Wells has teamed up with Todd "King Tut" Tutterow to field four cars for the 2013 racing season (X-DRL, ADRL and NHRA). This car, a 526 BAE blown 2005 Firebird is driven by Kevin Rivenbark (one of Galot's three regular drivers). I might add that the Galot racing team also does tractor pulls.  Rivenbark qualified first with a 1/8 mile time of 3.935 and went on to win the class.

X-DRL Races in Saint Louis

Pro Extreme Qualifying Heat

June 14, 2013; 6:35 pm CDT

Danny Lowry turns in a respectable 3.930 to qualify for the X-DRL Pro Extreme final rounds at Gateway Showdown in Saint Louis (actually Collinsville, Illinois but we won't quibble). This is quite a bit slower than the excellent 3.802 (203.40 mph) pass he made in 2012 at an ADRL meet in Virginia.
Lowry's Ford Mustang is powered by Alan Johnson Precision Engineering's turbo charged 481-x block power plant. Danny is the consummate professional and is always fun to watch.
